Revision of eTrust privacy standards

eTrust, the privacy and online security watchdog, has announced the forthcoming release of a new set of requirements for the certification of privacy policies.

The new requirements aim to cover the ever changing data collection methods used on the Internet, and include privacy topics such as social networking using popular sites such as Facebook and MySpace.

The new set of requirements also includes modifications to existing regulations concerning the safe storage of data, and disclosure policies, and the notification of users.
As always eTrust privacy policy certification and requirements aim to reassure users that their information is being stored in a safe manner and used ethically.
