London named best New Year's display

The International Charter has recognized London for having conducted the best New Year’s pyrotechnic display.

The top three displays to celebrate the New Year as recognized by the International Charter are:

1. London

2. Sydney

3. Dubai

London was praised for it innovative use of key landmarks, including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, and the synchronization of the display to music.

Other cities that were also considered included:

New York, Rio, Taipei, Moscow, Berlin, Auckland, Paris, Stockholm, Toronto, Edinburgh, Tokyo, Jakarta, Buenos Aires and Chicago
